Opportunities:
Join us in revolutionizing education by using AI as both a theory and a tool. The recent success of AI presents a critical challenge for education: what should we teach the next generation? Logic-based reasoning, a cornerstone of modern science and engineering, remains a weak point in generative AI. We believe logical reasoning must be central to future education.
Logic naturally integrates STEM subjects, AI, and Computer Science across all educational levels—from elementary to graduate school—creating an ideal environment for fostering logical reasoning. Building on this foundation, we will:
- Develop an innovative logic-based curriculum for STEM subjects across grades.
- Study its impact on students’ learning and teachers’ teaching.
- Utilize logic-structured STEM knowledge, data of student learning, and generative AI to design unprecedented intelligent systems that support students’ learning.
Our research is supported by funding fromprograms such as the National Science Foundation’s Discovery Research PreK-12 (DRK-12) program and other federal and private foundation programs.
This work holds immense academic value as well as the potential to cross over to multiple industrial applications, opening doors to rich and promising career opportunities. Join us in shaping the future of education and advancing the frontiers of AI.
Location:
The primay location for this position is flexible; Hybrid work is possible. This position requires minimal travel for conferences and meetings
Hiring Process
Please send an email to jobs (at) engagescience.org. Include a cover letter and complete CV. Note that after initial screening, we require 3 (three) reference contacts. If we wish to proceed with interviews, someone from our HR team or university-based patner leadership will contact you to arrange a technical proficiency test, then a joint interview with 3 of our PI’s/CoPI’s/faculty, followed by reference and background checks. During that period we may also require your academic transcript. If we decide to move forward, we will expect you to pass various training/certifications as a condition of hiring, including NSF research security and SBS IRB certification exams.
